There are various aspects and two main fencing aspects to this tournament. Lady Mary is most importantly about honour, pageantry, and fun. Thus with these aspects in mind, I am proposing a Petal Tournament. (Flower Power Tourney)
Each flower will have 6 petals. Sheets will be made up for the following aspects.
-Heraldry: Small items get one petal. Banners get one full flower.
-Spiel ( Your intro ): 2 petals if it was previously prepared/if not one petal
-Honour: Blade matching/weapons matching (as closely as possible) Arming and legging courtesies will be our standard.
Those holding Rapier Honours ( acknowledged skills “ awards “ ) when meeting others with similar skill sets will gain 6 petals if victorious. Those meeting lesser skilled opponents will get 5 if they have one level and 4 if they have 2 levels higher than their opponent. As an example; if meeting an opponent with no awards and I have 2 then the most I can score is 4 petals (if I blade and weapon match). If I meet someone with similar skill sets (awards), if victorious I would gain 6 petals. If I have no awards and defeat a Skill set level one then I get 8 petals. If I have no awards and defeat a Skill set level 2 then I get 10 petals.
Second aspect:
Skill set challenge: Each combatant will have 2 opportunities to Not Blade Match in a manner that should give their opponent a slight advantage. Gain two full flowers if victorious.
A final round of best two out of three will deal with any tie. As a reminder no updated fencing card equals no playing.
Scoring ( excluding heraldry and spiel )
No awards defeats no awards: Victory = 6 petals
No awards defeats level 1: V = 8 petals
No awards defeats level 2: V = 10 petals
Level 1 meets level 1: V =6 Petals
Level one defeats level 2: V = 8 petals
Level 2 defeats Level 2: V = 6 petals
Level 2 defeats Level 1: V = 4 Petals
Level 2 defeats no awards: V = 2 petals
